About us

Hello there. This is us, the human beings behind Delikipos Pottery.
Our little family begun at about the same time that Petros started making ceramics so they have been, of course, intertwined throughout. His very first exhibition took place when our firstborn, Elia, was around two months old. She is now 9 and so is our pottery.

He had gotten his electric wheel only a few months before that. I have never seen anything like it; his determination was out of this world. Especially those first three days, he was sitting at it from dawn till dusk - when he would stop for the day, his eyes were still spinning... I so admire his courage. The way that when he sets his mind to something, he just goes for it, however unfamiliar or uncomfortable it is. I am the exact opposite - I need to know or feel like I know something very well before even attempting it - so I guess that makes us a good team? It offers tons of inspiration to say the least.

Together we have been slowly creating the life we have been dreaming of - a work in progress but the result is even better than our dreams. We live in a plot which has half its boundaries with the beautiful forest of Delikipos village. Our house was constructed out of containers and even though it burnt us out for a few years, we built it and we are proud of it. We plant mainly indigenous to Cyprus trees and herbal plants at the moment but ideally will move towards growing more of our own food and living as sustainably as possible.

Up until now, Petros was the only practicing ceramicist of our pottery. I, Christiana, was mainly in charge of our photography, social media and providing assistance with the organization of exhibitions and events. The children, Elia and Jorian, are mainly responsible for the snacks and entertainment. Recently though, I too have begun sitting at the wheel and just can not believe it took me this long. I love it! So, the practicing ceramicists of Delikipos Pottery will most probably double soon and you will start seeing more work.

We hope you enjoy it all!
